Julia Morgan was a famous architect that designed over 700 buildings in California in the early 1900’s. She is best known for her work on Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California. In 1995 San Francisco’s Merchants Exchange building was renamed The Julia Morgan Ballroom after the famous turn of the century architect.
Tamara Jones of Tamara J Events and I envisioned an Indian wedding themed styled shoot at this amazingly beautiful ballroom, and recently worked together to create the images below. Working with a group of local wedding and event professionals we came together to combine inspiration with talent to create imagery we are all very proud of. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
This shoot was also published on the popular wedding website called “Engaged, Now What?!” Click HERE to see the publication!
After we photographed at the Julia Morgan Ballroom we took the couple to Baker Beach in San Francisco to get some beautiful for portraits of them on the beach at sunset!
It was a very cold evening! After sunset we headed back to the car to warm our numb fingers and toes! Before we left we grabbed this quick photo of the couple in the parking lot!
Behind the scenes….
The amazing Jewelry for this styled shoot was provided by Reveti!
Reveti brings us the timeless grace of the Victorian age with an exquisite ensemble of rare collectables and heirloom jewelry. Reveti Inc. was formally created in 1998 by Nandini Saraiya, daughter of Shyama Bhaskar, an internationally recognized gemologist and designer. Reveti has earned international acclaim and has become coveted worldwide and is proudly worn by famous models, the wives of prominent political figures and the social elite. Each of Reveti’s pieces is an inspirational work of art and has become a trademark of taste and prestige. Reveti’s designer collection features Mughal, Fine Diamonds, Deccan and Victorian designs.
The widely acclaimed, Mughal-inspired ‘Kundan’ technique of Northern India, combined with ‘Meenakari’ or enamelwork, creates the most bewitching range of jewelry, setting off diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and rubies in gold. The back of these pieces are often as beautiful as the front, enabling it to be worn either side uppermost according to the wearer’s fancy. The Fine Diamond collection combines the classic elegance of diamonds with the natural brilliance of a vast array of precious natural gemstones, including rubies, sapphires and emeralds. Reveti’s Heritage of the Raj or Deccan Collection is a historic collection of timeless jewelry that once belonged to Indian royalty and nobility who emulated the styles worn by British aristocracy at the Grand Durbar of 1911 – when India was declared the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of the British Empire. The Victorian collection comprises period pieces with jewels set in the western ‘open’ or ‘claw’ setting in silver and gold. To compliment this luxurious collection of designer jewelry, Reveti also showcases sterling silver, pearls and solitaires.
Reveti also presents an exclusive collection of breathtaking bridal jewelry bringing beauty and bliss to the bride on her special day. With one-on-one attention, we cater to the brides’ individual desires and taste.
