Often when consulting with my brides the topic of wedding coordination comes up.  I am often asked the question “Why do I need to hire a wedding coordinator if our venue is providing one?”  This is an excellent question!

F. Duncan Reyes Events by Design is one of our preferred wedding planners and event coordinators.  I recently sat down with Duncan and posed this very question to him.  His response was interesting and eye opening, so I thought I would share with you!

Over the years I have had the privilege to work at some amazing wedding venues where a representative from the property is there to help make sure your wedding reception runs smoothly.  Most of the time they do an amazing job, and everything works out great! But what about the rest of your day, before the reception starts? While talking with Duncan we both shared our memories from some of our favorite weddings in the past, and what made them so amazing.  When it came down to it the great weddings we remember had a planner that created and ran an impeccable and realistic timeline of your entire day.
