You would think that a wedding full of partying cops and school teachers would be a blast, and guess what? You’d be right! Rachael and Mike’s wedding at St. Mary’s Chapel in Moraga, and the Lafayette Park Hotel was a BLAST! I met Rachael and Mike only a couple of weeks ago, but feel like I’ve known them forever!
I absolutely love photographing weddings with amazing families so full of love and joy! From the moment I walked in Rachael’s suite where she and her friends and family were getting ready I could see how much they all loved and cared for one another. Rachael has a very special bond with her father, and the photos of him dancing with his little girl really shows this. For those of you that know me, know how much I love the father-daughter dance! I choke up almost every time, as I think of my little girl, and that some day I too will be dancing with her on her big day.
It’s also pretty neat how much Mike respects her father…. The way he talked about him and their relationship was very respectful. I love and respect a man with Mike’s character, and hope that some day my daughter finds a man like him.
Actually I respect both Mike and Rachael for what they do for a living. Mike is a decorated and respected police officer, and Rachael is a dedicated school teacher. Both of them give their lives in the service of others. How amazing is that?!
I love so many of Rachael and Mike’s photos because they are so full of love, laughter and joy! They are also full of men and women that dedicate their lives to protecting and educating us and our loved ones. It was my privilege to be a part of this amazing couple’s special day! Below are only a few of my favorites.

P.S. I was in the room with several of the local SWAT and police guys in the area…. Let me put it this way, I’m glad I’m on the good guys team!!! Some of these guys are HUGE!!!
