March is peak whale watching season in Maui, Hawaii, so it was no surprise when my wife Sarah and I walked out onto the balcony of our hotel room overlooking the ocean at the Wailea Marriott Resort & Spa that we saw a humpback whale breach. The beauty of this paradise island is an amazing place to vacation and photograph a wedding, so we did both! My wife and I showed up several days before Sara and Andre’s traditional Hawaiian beach wedding so that we could enjoy some time together swimming, whale watching, kayaking, snorkeling with the sea turtles, relaxing by the pools, and enjoying some of the local fare. By the time Sara and Andre’s wedding was getting started we were well rested and ready to shoot!
Here are only a small handful of images we captured during our time in this amazing island paradise!
I posted a video of my wife and I snorkeling with Sea Turtles on our business Facebook page. Check it out by clicking HERE!
Sara and Andre’s wedding was beautiful and intimate. They were joined by very close family and friends. They all enjoyed their stay, and got ready for the wedding in their rooms overlooking the Pacific Ocean at the Wailea Marriott Resort & Spa
The ceremony for the couples traditional Hawaiian wedding ceremony took place on a quite beach. Sara and Andre’s family and friends sat on mats and pillows amongst the soft sand and rose petals during the ceremony, complete with drums, dancers, a ukulele, fire torches, and the blowing of the conch shell.
Instead of a traditional wedding reception the new couple opted for us to join them at a traditional Hawaiian Luau!
The local food and entertainment was amazing!
